Manifeste program is out – July 5th, 8pm: The Heart off Guard
On July 5th my piece on Seamus Heaney’s poems will be premiered by Ensemble Intercontamporain with Elizabeth Calleo. This piece is exploring the experience of fatherhood and the relationship between father and son. Not from the psychological/psychoanalytical prospective, but rather through the poet’s eyes. More info on the piece soon. In the meantime, at the following link you can find some of his marvelous poetry: http://www.poetryfoundation.org/bio/seamus-heaney/

07/05/14, Paris (France): The Heart Off Guard (provisional title) (Premiere, Cursus 2 Project)
My project for Cursus 2 is finally taking shape. It will be premiered on July 5th, 2014, during Manifeste. I am planning to work on a series of poems by Seamus Heaney (authorization pending), a wonderful Irish poet whom I met during my time at Harvard. My idea is to work on a series of poems that face the theme of “fatherhood”, in the broader sense, selected from different moments of his life.
Unfortunately, during my research Heaney suddenly passed away. Therefore, the piece will be in memoriam. You can find more information on Heaney on the publisher’s website.
More details on the project and the performers soon.
