I was recently selected for an orchestral reading with the Orchestre Philharmonique de Radio France, conducted by Pierre-André Valade. The piece will be performed in June 2015 in Paris. More details to follow!

Selected composer for Milan 2015 Expo Competition

Working on Seamus Heaney’s project


For my Cursus 2 project at Ircam, I have had the opportunity to read a lot of Seamus Heaney’s poems. I first heard Heaney at a talk while at Harvard, and I was struck by his capacity of welcoming you in his world. I fell in love with some of his poems precisely for their capacity of communicating something fresh and ancient at the same time, which could describe much of who I am. A characteristic that I find difficult to find today in a lot of contemporary arts/literature. It is unfortunate that he passed away as my project was developing, but I am thankful of having had the chance to see him speaking, and to have met his works.

Starting September 2012, I will be moving to Paris for the Cursus 1 at IRCAM. The Cursus 1 is a training course on Electronic Music and runs from September till April 2013, generally culminating with a work for solo instrument and electronics. More info:

Invited to the 2012 IEMA (Ensemble Modern)

I was recently invited to write a new piece for the Ensemble Modern Academy. The piece will be for 15 instruments and electronics and performed in Frankfurt, Karlsruhe and Paris in September 2012.

Finalist at the International Rautavaara Competition

On February 18-21 and July 6-7 I was invited to the final round of the International Rautavaara Workshop and Competition with my new piece entitled Gelo, for vocal ensemble. The revised version of the piece for 12 singers will be then performed in concert in July, and the winner of the competition will be asked to write a new piece for the Helsinki Chamber Choir.
